Leadership Styles Dimensions and Organizational Commitment Nexus: Evidence from a Public Sector in Nigeria

Scholarly works have shown that one of the outstanding factors organizational commitment has been leadership, which relates to style adopted by leader and impact it on level employees for performance. The aim this research was explore effect leadership styles commitment. Transformational, transactional, laissez faire were examined. A cross-sectional survey 151 at a public sector agency in Abuja, Nigeria, conducted. employed quantitative approach collection data using questionnaire administration. All items assessed five-point Likert scale. Inferential statistics carried out multiple regression technique substantiate findings. Based Great man theory, Contingency theory Behavioural study confirms transformational, transactional statistically associated. In terms contribution model, explanatory variables jointly contributed 68.2 percent explaining On individual contribution, transformational most, 58.6 model while 11.8 finally laissez-faire 11.2 context. therefore recommends AEA should use continuous practices sustain high employee effectiveness. Also, apply bit both from time depending situation things workplace as there is no particular one-size fit all but depends hand. One realistic implication could be learned order minimize turnover, managers need implement affirmative strategies will benefit establishment.
